We live beyond our means, and it does not make us happy.
We work most of our waking life and what do we get?
We use up finite resources to have things we are told to want.
This was not my idea.

Why?

Why do I do this?

I am tired of being livestock, farmed for my share of resources.
I am tired of being told I must work hard, by people who benefit far more from my work than I do.
I am tired of being complicit in my own degradation.

I did not sign up for this.

The world as it is, really is the best of all possible worlds, for a few million people.  But for a billion or so, it is a hellish nightmare that they cannot wake from.  And for the six billion of us in between, it is a sad, pointless existence, in which we are told what to do, what to eat, what to wear, who we can sleep with and what useless crap to buy.  If we deviate from the path laid out for us, our fellow livestock bully us back on track.  And if we are unhappy with this state of affairs, there must be something wrong with us.

We can't fight back, any more than a cow can fight back against a rancher.

But we can learn how not to be cattle.
